Read Aloud MEGA List

Simple Classroom Pins-5.png

The purpose of today’s post is not really to solve a major problem you may be facing in the classroom…although this little resource I’m offering today may help! It’s instead to… (drum roll please) unveil my BRAND NEW WEBSITE! And to give you a freebie to celebrate!

Starting this month (November 2019), The Simple Classroom will roll out a brand new freebie to everyone on the email list. This is just my way of saying thank you to those of you who follow along with me throughout the rest of the month. You listen to my stories, look at pictures of my kids, check out my newest resources, email me back…I LOVE you guys. I want to make it extra special to be a part of our community here, and I’d like to gift you something once a month.

This month, the gift is my read aloud guide. This is a collection of read alouds that pair well with six different topics we teach in the elementary classroom: character, main idea, cause and effect, compare and contrast, problem and solution, and predicting/inferring. Each page in this download lists between 8-10 read alouds that I have USED. These picture books are teacher tested, standards aligned, and kid approved!

The text links to each of the titles in these lists. You will be taken straight to Amazon, for your convenience. These are linked to my affiliate account, so if you purchase directly from these links, it does not charge you any additional fees, but I may receive a small portion of the earnings.

However, you likely have many of these books already! My guess is, when you are scrolling through this list, you’ll see a couple titles you never thought to use for that skill. You’ll see a few titles you totally forgot you owned. You’ll see some new titles you may want to check out. Overall, this is a list of my favorite read alouds…used in both 2nd and 4th grade classrooms, and I want to give you an easy grab-and-go list for the next unit you are planning.

I expect this resource to grow, and for more book lists to be added over time, as I remember great reading lessons from years past. But, future updates will only be emailed out, so be sure to get on the list today!
