Use Theme Days to Simplify the Last Two Weeks of School [FREE DOWNLOAD]

The year is winding down. Have you started planning your end-of-year activities yet? This has been a crazy year (or…three years), so I want to do everything I can to keep your end of year planning and prep SIMPLE. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing ideas that can make your end of year more seamless!

Today, I want to share a series of FUN theme days that my friend Briana Beverly and I made together. These theme days can be condensed to a single day, but there is enough to spread them out over two days apiece. That means if you use all 5, you can fill 10 DAYS of your year. That’s the last two weeks of school…totally planned for you!

Let’s learn more about theme days. And make sure you read all the way to the end, because a great FREEBIE is included for you!

What are theme days?

Theme Days are packs of activities centered around a single theme! The theme days Briana and I made are all centered around summer. So, we have a lemonade day, a camping day, an ice cream day…and more! These activities will get your students excited about their summer break. But, more importantly, you will be having a BLAST doing activities that practice skills they’ve learned all year long!

How should I structure theme days?

These packs have just-for-fun activities, literacy whole group tasks, math whole group tasks, and fun games and activities that can be done in small groups. They all each feature either a whole group craft or a science experiment. You can break apart the activities included to fit into your existing schedule, or you can use the suggested schedule we include inside each theme day to guide your teaching!

What is so engaging about theme days?

Theme day packs are full of so many fun activities. From science experiments to crafts. From interactive PowerPoint games to card games…your students won’t even realize how hard they’re working! I’m always striving to deepen my students’ understanding of skills at the end of the year, but I also want to have fun doing it! It’s finally our chance to do whatever we want to do without testing pressure or observations looming. So, I never want to squander those last few days together. Let’s make it fun, but also purposeful! Theme days allow you to have both.

How do I get started with theme days?

You can check out each of the individual sets on TPT! We have Lemonade Day, Camping Day, Taco Day, Ice Cream Day, and Beach Day. Grab the themes that sound the most fun to you…or grab the bundle for 20% off! Getting all 5 sets at once will not only save you time, but they will save you planning stress during those last two weeks of school. 🙌
