Goodness. What a wild time this back to school season is shaping up to be! To give you some context, in case you’re reading this post sometime in the future…it is July, 2020. What the future of school looks like in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic is a giant unknown. Hopefully, if you’re reading this in the future, you’re shaking your head at this stress...because you know it all turns out just fine!

But right now, we have no idea what’s coming. Many schools around here are operating under the assumption that we will back in school in some capacity this fall. I think teachers are gearing up for a wild school year, and I want to help by removing some of the stress from your plate.

Today, I am sharing Five Simple Classroom Solutions. Things that can simplify your back to school prep, taking something off of your plate, or streamline a process you already have in place.

Several of these have blog posts of their own, if you want to read about them in-depth. Or, you can click on the photos and product titles listed below to see the products on TPT.

If you want to see the second half of this list, check out this blog post here!

SIMPLE CLASSROOM SOLUTIONS

Schedule Cards

Schedule cards that hold the time of day, the analog time, or the digital time. A great way to show students what time things are happening right there on one sheet of paper.

Book Box Labels

No more messy book boxes throughout the year! Put your expectations right there on the front, along with your student’s name. These labels are part of my center organization kit, and they are a hit with teachers everywhere!

Small Group Planner

The absolutely necessary essential for a year where we may be meeting with kids individually, rather than in small groups. Data collection and organization is going to be critical to ensure that we meet kids where they are, and don’t let anyone slip through the cracks! This small group planner is my favorite thing in my store. I have a full blog post about it here.

Birthday Bags

A birthday solution that puts the responsibility on your students’ shoulders! Students fill a big with birthday cards for your kids on the morning of their birthday. It’s simple-but it’s no longer your job to make a student feel special on their birthday…and that has a HUGE impact on your sanity! Read the blog about this system here.

End of Day Jobs

You may sense a theme here…but my End of Day Jobs are another classroom solution that shifts the responsibility from your shoulders to your students (which is my favorite thing). Your expectations are right there on the card, your students develop the autonomy to take care of your classroom on their own…it’s such a win for everyone. See my blog post about this system here.
