Goodness. What a wild time this back to school season is shaping up to be! To give you some context, in case you’re reading this post sometime in the future…it is July, 2020. What the future of school looks like in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic is a giant unknown. Hopefully, if you’re reading this in the future, you’re shaking your head at this stress...because you know it all turns out just fine!

But right now, we have no idea what’s coming. Many schools around here are operating under the assumption that we will back in school in some capacity this fall. I think teachers are gearing up for a wild school year, and I want to help by removing some of the stress from your plate.

Today, I am sharing Five Simple Classroom Solutions. Things that can simplify your back to school prep, taking something off of your plate, or streamline a process you already have in place.

Several of these have blog posts of their own, if you want to read about them in-depth. Or, you can click on the photos and product titles listed below to see the products on TPT.

If you want to see the first half of this list, check out this blog post here!

SIMPLE CLASSROOM SOLUTIONS

Essential 55 Expectations

I love Ron Clark’s Essential 55. I always pull something new from it, each time I read it. Obviously, 55 expectations is a lot for any group of kiddos. So, I condensed it down to 10 of my favorites, in more concise, kid-friendly language. These expectation posters cover the basics of a polite, respectful, growth-centered classroom.

Notebook Grading Systems and Organization

Reading and Writing Notebooks are such important instructional tools, but they have the tendency to get away from us. It’s hard to stay organized and keep up with the grading. My system fixes that. See my blog posts about Reading Notebooks and Writing Notebooks here.

Classroom Economy

A stripped-down, no-frills approach to managing behavior and including a positive incentive system in your classroom. This Classroom Economy doesn’t come with a million moving parts. You don’t need to write paychecks, print a ton of fake money, or anything like that. You don’t even need to pass out the money…or keep up with rewards. Read about the full system (and how effortlessly it works) here.
