Maternity Leave Binder

$4.75

One of the last things you want to think about as you're preparing for a new baby is all of the work you need to do to go on maternity leave. But, no one has ever regretted being organized and prepared for a leave of absence! And, this resource makes it extra simple to get ready for your long term sub and your maternity leave.

What makes this resource different from other maternity leave resources?

This download includes many of the same substitute binder forms that you are accustomed using in your classroom. But, this resource includes two things that make it a little different:

  1. Take your sub on a 'visual tour' of your most critical routines and procedures with the template pages included in this resource. Share pictures and step-by-step directions of your classroom job routine, dismissal routine, behavior management procedures, etc. This will make it so simple for your sub to step into your shoes and run your classroom with consistency!

  2. For my own maternity leave binder, rather than writing weekly lesson plans for all of the weeks I planned to be out, I included routines for each of my instruction blocks. I have included these pages in this download! My sub has a full page write up of my math teaching routines, reading block routines, etc. She also has my weekly routines page which gives her a quick, at-a-glance, look at a typical week in my room. (Spelling words go home on Mondays, Test on Fridays, Mystery Reader on Fridays, Math Fact quizzes on Tuesdays, etc.) This has made it easier for me to tell my sub what to do without having to write out detailed plans for each week!

What does this download include?

  • Binder Cover

  • Thank You Page with important phone extensions

  • Schedule Page

  • Roster and Attendance Directions

  • Dismissal Chart

  • Need-to-Know Routines and Procedures

  • Tech Support page with login and troubleshooting directions

  • Week at-a-glance template

  • Routines pages for each instructional block

  • Classroom Jobs Page

  • Student Behavior Page

  • Homework + Grading Policies Page

  • Class Birthdays Page

  • Miscellaneous Notes Page

All forms are completely editable. A Canva file and Powerpoint file are included in this download.
